Gas detection scheme of chemical plant: building a three-dimensional defense line of “air-ground integration”
The chemical production environment is complex, and the risk of gas leakage is hidden and the consequences are serious. The traditional “point alarm” has been difficult to meet the dual needs of modern chemical parks for intrinsic safety and environmental compliance. This scheme aims to build an all-round and visual gas detection system through the “fixed+mobile” cooperative operation, and upgrade the safety management from “passive response” to “active defense”.
On the perception level, the scheme adopts the technical strategy of “point, line and surface”. For the reactor, compressor and other core device areas, explosion-proof fixed detectors are deployed, electrochemical sensors are used to accurately capture trace toxic gases such as hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide, and infrared sensors are used to monitor combustible gases such as methane to ensure stable operation in harsh environments. Aiming at the open areas such as storage tank area and pipe gallery, gas cloud imaging and Fourier infrared hyperspectral telemetry technology are introduced. These devices are like “clairvoyance”, which can display invisible gas leakage with visual video, realize long-distance scanning, and completely solve the problem of monitoring blind spots.

In order to make up for the limitation of fixed points, the scheme introduces UAV and explosion-proof robot to build a mobile monitoring network. The UAV is equipped with a laser methane telemeter, which can quickly inspect the overhead pipe gallery and the top of the storage tank at high altitude, greatly reducing the risk of personnel climbing; The ground explosion-proof inspection robot is equipped with an air cloud imaging camera to conduct regular patrols in the device area. This “air-ground cooperation” mode not only improves the inspection efficiency, but also can be used as an advance force to enter the high-risk area for reconnaissance when an accident occurs.
All monitoring data are finally imported into the central management and control platform, and real-time visualization and intelligent linkage are realized through AI algorithm. Once the monitoring data exceeds the standard, the system triggers an alarm in milliseconds and automatically links the fan or cut-off valve. At the same time, the plan emphasizes “three-point construction and seven-point operation and maintenance”, and it is suggested to establish equipment electronic files, strictly implement the system of regular calibration and impact testing, ensure the authenticity and reliability of data, and build a solid security line for enterprises.
