HRP530 Mini Handheld Telemetering Gas Detector: Remote Methane Leakage Detection Solution

08/18 2026

Methane leakage is a serious safety problem in natural gas, oil and gas, petrochemical, pipeline and industrial applications. Traditional gas detection methods usually require workers to be close to the suspected leakage point, which may present difficulties or safety risks in some environments. HIREP HRP530 mini handheld telemetering gas detector provides a more efficient solution for gas leakage detection through remote and non-contact methane detection.

Advanced TDLAS detection technology

HRP530 uses tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) technology to detect methane (CH4). The instrument emits infrared laser to the target area. When the laser passes through the region containing methane, CH4 molecules will absorb the laser with a specific wavelength. By analyzing the absorbed laser signal, HRP530 can calculate the methane concentration in the optical path.

This technology enables operators to detect methane leakage without placing the detector directly at the suspected leakage point, so it is especially suitable for areas that are difficult to access or potentially dangerous.

Fast and accurate methane detection

The detection range of HRP530 is 0–100,000 ppm m and the resolution is 1 ppm m. Its response time can reach 0.1 second at the earliest, which enables operators to quickly identify potential methane leakage during inspection.

The detector provides three optional detection distances of 15 m, 30 m and 60 m, which can flexibly meet different inspection requirements. Users can choose the appropriate product configuration according to the working environment and detection distance.

Compact design suitable for on-site inspection

HRP530 is specially designed for professional field use, and the whole machine weighs only 230 g.. The mini handheld structure is convenient to carry during pipeline inspection, equipment maintenance and daily gas safety inspection.

The detector adopts durable industrial aluminum alloy shell and has IP65 protection level, which helps to cope with the harsh field working environment. When methane leakage reaches the preset alarm threshold, sound and vibration alarm can remind the operator in time.

Wide range of industrial applications

HRP530 is suitable for many methane detection applications. In the natural gas industry, it can be used for pipeline inspection, gas facility maintenance and leak detection. In the oil and gas and petrochemical industries, it can be used to check valves, pipelines, storage tanks and process equipment.

In addition, the instrument can also be used in gas transmission and distribution systems, gas filling stations, power plants, industrial manufacturing facilities and environmental monitoring. Its remote detection capability enables operators to inspect equipment from a safer distance and improve the overall inspection efficiency.

Bluetooth and dedicated APP

HRP530 supports Bluetooth data transmission and can be connected with a dedicated detection APP. Users can conveniently check the detection information and manage the inspection data, thus improving the field operation efficiency and gas safety management level.

Why HIREP HRP530?

HRP530 integrates non-contact remote detection, TDLAS laser technology, rapid response, remote detection, wide detection range, lightweight design, IP65 protection, Bluetooth connection and dual alarm functions of sound and vibration into a compact instrument.
